Born in 2001 in Changzhou, China, Wenhao Chen began his artistic journey at Yimo Academy in 2018. Starting with landscape sketches, watercolor, and gouache, he discovered oil painting in 2021 and has since devoted himself fully to the medium.

Deeply disciplined, Wenhao spends over ten hours a day at the easel, continuously refining his craft. His rare gift allows him to capture both the essence and spirit of masters such as Van Gogh and Monet, while developing a voice uniquely his own. Whether painting landscapes or still lives, his brushwork is precise, his compositions poised, and his colors rooted in life yet transcending it.

Wenhao’s practice often reimagines the translucency of watercolor through the richness of oil, uniting delicacy with saturation.
